Rob Floyd Princess Cruises Cocktail Ambassador
– Wanderlust and crafted cocktails go hand in hand, on Princess Cruises. The line has revealed an all-new beverage menu, featuring destination-inspired cocktails created by master mixologist Rob Floyd, which will be rolled out to the fleet in fall 2018.
The cocktails will incorporate ingredients — such as lychee and fresh papaya, grapefruit and pineapple juices from the South Pacific, and sugar from Jamaica’s plantations which is used to make rum — native to the destinations Princess sails. Nonalcoholic cocktails also will be available.
“I was truly inspired by ingredients from all the amazing destinations that Princess Cruises sails” said Floyd, in a statement. “Guests will be able to enjoy a wide selection of fully realized drinks that combine what I refer to as the Three T’s: taste, technique, and tale.”
Princess Cruises won Best Itineraries in Cruise Critic’s 2017 Editors’ Picks Awards, for its well-rounded selection of both standard and exotic itineraries that bring the local “flavor” onboard.
Among the cocktails passengers will be able to order are the Mayan Heat (Patron Silver tequila, Triple Sec, lime juice, agave syrup, muddled jalapeno); Italian Sunset (Aperol, Bombay Sapphire gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, Angostura bitters); Ver-Jus (St. George “Terroir” gin, St-Germain, muddled green grapes, lemon juice, simple syrup); and Ivory Coast (Grey Goose vodka, Amarula African liqueur, Kahlua, chocolate shavings).
Non-alcoholic options include the Zero Mojito (fresh mint, lime, simple syrup, Sprite) and Strawberries on Fire (fresh strawberries, lime juice, agave syrup, jalapeno, soda).
In addition to the new cocktails, Princess’ revamped beverage menu will feature 20 new high-end and exotic spirits, 39 new wines by the glass and 17 new international and craft beers. The new cocktails will be available on six different menus throughout each ship.
