Iconic Southern California Resort Taps Top Talent from Old Lightning Bar, Peppi’s Cellar, and the NoMad Bar for Special Pop-up Bar Experiences

NewPort Beach (Spiritsman) 3/8/20/–Great things happened when the award-winning, stunningly beautiful 504 acre Newport Beach Resort at Pelican Hill partnered with three of the nation’s most revered bars: Old Lightning Bar, Peppi’s Cellar, and the NoMad Bar, each sharing their treasure trove of talents and skills developed in their pursuit of excellence to provide innovative “night out” experiences.

This successful collaboration culminated in the launch of Aperitivo Hour(s) Pop-ups at the Newport Beach Pelican Hill Coliseum Pool & Grill, Old Lightening Bar in Los Angeles, and Peppi’s Cellar and NoMad Bar, both in New York City as detailed on the schedule below.

Friday, March 6 and Saturday March 7 in Newport Coast:

Guests were presented with Pablo Moix’s tantalizing selection of beautifully crafted cocktails:

Aperol Spritz: Classic Specialty of the Evening

Garabaldi: Campari and Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice

Brown Derby: Wild Turkey 101-Bourbon, Grapefruit, Lime, Honey

Sierra Norte: Montelobos Mezcal, Aperol, Pineapple, Lime

Buenaventura: Bulldog Gin, Cinzano Dry Vermouth, Cacao White

Atomic Old Fashioned: Master’s Keep Cornerstone Rye Whiskey, Bitters, Sugar

Friday, March 6 and Saturday March 7 in Los Angeles:

Old Lightning Bar’s menu features over 90 handcrafted cocktails as well as a collection of over 1,200 rare, vintage or limited-release spirits by owners Pablo Moix and Steve Livigni.

Friday, March 20 and Saturday March 21 in New York City:

NYC’s tony Peppi’s Cellar, famous for pairing its extensive cache of spirits with impressively upscale Italian menu offerings in the ambience of the old-style bars in Rome.

Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28 in New York City:

Although the NYC tavern NoMad Bar is known for its classic cocktails, recently Food and Beverage Vice President, Robitschek, Bar Director, Nathan McCarley-O’Neill, and Los Angeles Bar Director, Dave Purcell have designed and crafted festive, large format drinks and a selection of reserve cocktails using rare spirits. No doubt, those fortunate enough to try these “think outside the traditional bottle drinks” will be rewarded for their adventurous efforts.

Many thanks and gratitude are extended to the Resort at Pelican Hill management, staff, media personnel, resident and guest bartenders, complimentary valet parking attendants, food service staff and all others involved in working together to create this fun, high energy, excitement-filled evening in celebration of the Aperitivo Hour(s) Pop-ups.
