Spiritsman (HOLLYWOOD) 4/15/20/–Relatively new to the spirits world Guillotine Vodka made its debut at the 75th Annual Wine and Spirits Wholesalers’ Association Convention in Las Vegas in May 2018. Guillotine Vodka differs from the traditional vodkas that we as Americans have become accustomed to enjoying. Guillotine Vodka is made not from potatoes, corn, nor other grains. It is made from Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay grapes from the Champagne region of France. These grapes are picked and de-seeded by hand, pressed and slowly fermented/distilled. The traditional French process preserves the subtleties of the combination of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay grapes, thereby producing a great tasting and enjoyable drinking experience.
Guillotine Heritage Vodka, Silver Medal Rated 85 Points retails for approximately $80.00, flavors/tastes have been described as caramel, oaky, walnut, toasted sugar, and a hint of mustard. The amber/golden color beautifully enhances the visual appeal of Guillotine Heritage Vodka.
My Personal Taste Test Evaluation of Guillotine Heritage Vodka: The first thing that caught my eye was the rich, amber color that was a delightful departure from the ubiquitous clear vodkas. However, as the saying goes, “The proof is in the pudding.” From the very first sip, there was a burst of a wonderful mix of flavors. I concluded that Heritage Vodka has that wonderful, can’t get enough of flavor that comes from the Champagne region grapes and the oak barrels used to marry the flavors imparted by each of them.
Guillotine Vodka Originale comes in at the lower price point of approximately $55 with taste opinions including: pungent, delicate profile, soft and mild aromas, lovely, surprising fragrance. People who have reviewed this vodka suggest that it be allowed to sit for a few minutes to warm up before drinking.
Tonight instead of defaulting to the traditional vodka martini, why not kick it up a notch with a bit of je ne sais quoi of your own by preparing the famous French 75.
