D is for Sean Combs – Daddy, Diageo, & Deleon Tequilas!

HOLLYWOOD(Spiritsman)7/27/15/–When you mention the new venture of music and business mogul, Sean “Puff Daddy”Combs, one has to wonder what else he can accomplish! A global star turned liquor entrepreneur he partnered with Diageo in 2007 and created Ciroc Vodka. Now they have released a new version of Deleon Tequilas, a relatively small brand with a high price point. Back in November 2014, Diageo and Combs realized that the luxury brand tequila market was crowded and limited so they restructured the small batch Deleon as a second tier Ultra-Premium line; Deleon Platinum ($60), Reposado ($65), and Anejo ($70). These price points for this range are at the top of its key competitors, Patron and Tequila Avion. The luxury cost point starts at ($150) for the Deleon Diamante to the Leona ($850).

Deleon Platinum is a Blanco tequila produced in a perfume-like bottle design complete with its trademark “D” logo. Unlike its luxury version metal top, this ultra-premium has a round plastic top equipped with enough room for a shot! As you first put your nose close you will find that the aromas permeate your senses but not overwhelm the finish. Its sweet and robust flavor will startle your palate with a full bodied warming sensation! The Deleon taste profile creates a dry, neutral finish with a hint of citrus. Too many shots of this boutique tequila might just finish you off pretty quick; respect the feeling of the Deleon!

What separates Deleon Tequilas from the rest of the pack is Master Distiller Miguel Cedeno Cruz. His ingredients are exceptional in quality and the production process he employs uses the traditional distillation technique. This isn’t standard industry practice.
