Fuzzy Zoeller’s Drives his Ultra Premium Vodka to market

FUZZY’S ULTRA PREMIUM VODKA-

TRYING TO BREAK THROUGH

Hollywood,CA(Spiritsman)9/1/11/—Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka is the brainchild of golfer Fuzzy Zoeller, certainly one of the most popular golfers in the PGA tour the last three decades. Zoeller won the 1979 Masters on his very first appearance and the 1984 US Open following a playoff round with Greg Norman. He is now a regular on the Seniors Tour and probably not winning as much as he would like, but he also designs golf courses and has created 19 so far, of which three are played on the PGA Tour.

He personally conducted a series of blind tastings with different groups of buddies to finally decide that he had found the right blend before introducing it onto the crowded luxury vodka market at a very good price of $28. Fuzzy also claims that you can use the bottle as a tee.

Attractive packaging with a computerized golf course fairway on the bottle certainly helps for marketing purposes, now the secret is to get on the shelves at liquor stores and supermarkets. Country clubs and golf courses have been an obvious target for the brand, especially if Zoeller can make a personal appearance and try a few swings with the locals at the club house.

The corn based vodka is hand-crafted in small batches and slowly filtered ten times through charcoal and crushed volcanic rock. A portion of the spirit is then rested in oak casks to give it the smoothness which is the selling/marketing point for the vodka. It is bottled in Bend Oregon where spring water from the Cascade Mountains is as pure as it can get.

Surprisingly I did not find the Vodka particularly overwhelming, but certainly pleasant enough when drank neat with a few chunks of ice, or with tonic. The flavors that came to mind when drinking this included citrus, whipped cream and anise and when it comes to awards from the spirits world, the vodka is off to a promising start. The prestigious Chicago International Beverage Tasting Institute gave the private label spirit a high 94 rating.
