FLEMINGS IN EL SEGUNDO WHERE STEAK IS KING

El Segundo, CA(Spiritsman)8/18/12/—A popular Steak House chain like Fleming’s can never take their success for granted, and so seasonal promotions are the norm to keep the buzz going. Currently running at the El Segundo location and other branches is the outstanding Steak & Sangria promotion for $39.95, with a three course gourmet dinner plus the sangria. Even though this particular promotion will end in late August, the high quality food served at Flemings will always be available on a daily basis.

By the time you read this the current promotion has been slightly amended to include
Prime New York Strip with Crispy Gorgonzola instead of the soy glazed version I
was lucky enough to experience.

Even though the night I went during the Olympics was a Tuesday, at 8 pm the place
was packed primarily with groups of businessmen enjoying their expense accounts,
but after about 8.30 pm the place started to thin out. Service is outstanding at this
location, and that is hardly surprising considering that the staff know the customer
will be almost certain to be blown away by the quality of the food.

Starting out with a summer style Butter Lettuce and Pear Salad creatively prepared
with goat cheese, candied walnuts, crispy onions and a lemon vinaigrette, this salad
matched well with the house signature parmesan bread.

The Prime New York Strip came with a sweet and spicy soy rub topped with a
savory tomato and roasted red pepper butter, chopped marcona almonds, and
served with a side of summer slaw. Chef Mark Ogren who is also a partner at
the restaurant really outdid himself with this steak lovers fix. I always generally
go for medium rare, but for this one I steered more towards the medium, and boy
was it good. Perfectly cooked and tender and juicy, it was by far the best steak
I had had in some time, and I can’t wait to return.

Pairing the Sangria with this was an inspired choice by the Flemings management.
consisting of Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, Vinedos Terranoble Sauvignon Blanc and Peach Schnapps, with fresh peaches, honeydew, oranges and lemons, this is something to
concoct at home. Needless to say, one glass was more than enough for the evening.

Using Sailor Jerry as the base for the cocktail was an inspired choice, as this rum
continues to fight off its countless competitors anxious to break into the competitive
spiced rum market.

However if you prefer wine, then Flemings is famous for its wine by the glass program,
with well over ninety choices available by the glass. Again, Flemings, and in particular
the El Segundo location is an outstanding choice for a special occasion even if you only
do something like that once a year, and out of town guests will be greatly impressed by
your knowledge of high end dining.
