Celebrate Summer Solstice with these summer-inspired cocktails

Hollywood, CA(Spiritsman)6/16/12/—The Summer Solstice is soon approaching and with it marks the official start of summer! I wanted to see if you and your readers would be interested in creating a series of summer cocktails inspired by this celestial event.
This June 20th—day of the Summer Solstice—night can wait. Just like the sun, we too should take a moment to stand still and enjoy the start of summer. This is the longest day and shortest night of the year, so let’s take this extra daylight to bask in the sun. What better way to celebrate Summer Solstice then with these summer-inspired cocktails?

Celestial Sunrise
1 oz Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur
1 oz Cascal (tropical fermented soda)
Laurent-Perrier Brut NV Champagne
Garnish cherry
Combine Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur and passion fruit juice in a shaker, add ice and pour into a champagne flute. Top with champagne and garnish with cherry.

 

Sun-Kissed Sangria
24 oz Croft Pink
3 oz Flor de Caña 7 yr Grand Reserve Rum
6 oz fresh orange juice
3 oz fresh lemon juice
1.5 oz simple syrup
Slices of seasonal summer fruit
Slice seasonal fruit and place in pitcher. Add all other ingredients and refrigerate for 10 hours. Add ice upon serving.

 

Summarita
2 oz Camus VS Elegance Cognac
2 oz sweet & sour mix
1 oz Grand Marnier
Garnish lime wedge
Combine all ingredients over ice and shake well. Strain into a small rocks glass over fresh ice. Salted rim optional. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Berry Sky High
1.5 oz Flor de Caña 7 yr Grand Reserve Rum
.5 oz rose syrup
.25 oz agave nectar
.75 oz fresh lime juice
1.5 oz apple juice
Garnish 2 Raspberries
Combine all ingredients over ice and shake well. Strain into coupe glass. Garnish with raspberries.
