12 Vintners Pour in Support of Hospice Santa Barbara

Santa Ynez, CA(Spiritsman)8/30/12/—The Rose’ wines were flowing at the 13th Bouillabaisse Festival held in the garden of the Brander Vineyard in Santa Ynez , California to celebrate art of fine Bouillabaisse. Fred Brander, host for the event, and Master of Ceremonies Sonja Magdevski, who is not only the owner of Casa Dumetz Winery, but also the ‘best girl’ of writer/producer/actor Emilio Estevez, extended a warm welcome to the huge crowd in attendance.
Guests sipped a variety of rose wines donated by area vintners which included Alma Rose, Ampelos Cellars, Au Bon Climat, Beckman, Brander, Buttonwood Farm, Casa Dumetz, Jaffurs, Kaena, Flying Goat Cellars, Verdad, and Assorted French Roses, while savoring the outstanding bouillibasse and cioppino recipes created for the competition by chef’s representing Arch Rock Fish, Arlington Tavern, Ballard Inn, Birnam Wood, Blush, Ca’Dario, Coast, Cold Spring Tavern, CECCO, La Cumbre County Club, Pane e Vino, Rosa’s Ristorante, Sly’s, Valley Club, and Willows.
Winners for this 2012 event included Chef Ron True and the Arlington Tavern Team who went home with the Best Classic Bouillabaisse. Best Cioppino & Best of Overall went to Chef Scott Leibfried and the Arch Rock Fish Team and 2nd went to Ca Dario Ristaurante. Chef Sergio Renteria of the Chumash Casino’s Willows Restaurant (Chumash Casino) won the Best Open Table Award. Chef Budi Kazali of The Ballard Inn and Chef Doug MacMillan of Rosa ‘s Ristaurante also went home with awards for their outstanding culinary presentations.
