Hollywood.CA(Spiritsman)1/26/12/—The Academy, in partnership with Moet & Chandon champagne and in an effort to “be more fun and approachable” and “work on rejuvenating its image,” according to the publicist Jenn DeMartino, has introduced a Facebook contest to select the “exclusive” champagne cocktail of the post-Oscars Governors Ball.
The contest invites people to submit photos of their original cocktail (using Moet & Chandon Imperial as an ingredient, of course). The winner will be determined by a combination of “likes” on the Facebook page and the discretion of a panel of judges, including Jeffrey Kurland, an Oscar-nominated costume designer (“Bullets Over Broadway”) and the chairman of this year’s Governors Ball.
It doesn’t appear that the winner gets to actually attend the dinner (or the Oscars), but there is a free trip to Los Angeles and bleacher seats on the red carpet on the day of the ceremony, among other prizes. More details can be found here.
The winner and a guest will be invited to an exciting, behind-the-scenes Oscar weekend including a 3-night stay at JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE hotel, round trip airfare on United Airlines, car service, tickets to the Governors Ball Preview Party where your cocktail will be served, red carpet bleacher seats at the Fan Experience Red Carpet Arrival and Viewing Party on Oscar Sunday followed by the official Oscar viewing party at El Capitan.
