WHITE HOUSE-ICONIC ANAHEIM RESTAURANT
CHANGES THEME TO ITALIAN STEAK HOUSE

Anaheim, CA( Spiritsman)7/13/13/–The White House restaurant in Anaheim is a place I had heard a lot about, so when I got the chance a couple of weeks ago to meet chef/owner Bruno Serato to check out his new menu I jumped at the chance. In fact the concept of the restaurant has changed from Italian to an Italian Steak House, a concept or rebranding that Serato has been planning for some time.
Since the restaurant has been around since 1986 and the building itself was built in 1909, and is well known enough to be a regular hangout for celebrities and members of the Anaheim Ducks and California Angels and many more. I am surprised he still needs to convince the locals that they serve more than just pizza and pasta. Hell he even has a picture with David Beckham hanging up along with a signed A.C.Milan shirt (very rare) in the restaurant.
Staples of the new upgraded menu will include Wagyu Steak, Rack of Lamb, Rack of Venison, Hanger Steak and believe it or not Bison. The Wagyu is Australian, and is an intense Angus “Kobe Style” beef that undergoes intense marbling, and which contains a higher percentage of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids than typical beef and costs $85 for a 16 oz steak.
The Bison Steak ($65) from North Dakota was my choice out of all the meats I tried, but the Venison ($43.95) was also so well prepared. New York Steak comes in the 8 oz and 12 oz size for $33.50 and $41.50 respectively. The core of the menu however remains unchanged with an enticing selection of appetizers, pastas and sea food dishes.
Clearly this is not only a special occasion restaurant, but one you can visit time and time again and try something pretty unique every visit.
The White House is also I believe the only restaurant in the country that offers the new Prosecco from singer Andre Bocelli, aptly called Bocelli. I got the chance to try it, and if you think that this is just a way for the blind singer to make some extra cash by allowing his name to be used you would be wrong. Bocelli grew up on a farm, and by all accounts knows his wines, so keep an eye out for this sparkling wine which will be retailing for about $11.99, par for the course for Prosecco these days.
Bruno is also quite the philanthropist, and has been feeding local youth through his Caterina’s Club for seven years now, and he has just announced that Barilla, the world’s largest pasta company has pledged one years worth of pasta to the cause. Bruno’s good work has earned him countless recognition from many organizations including the Italian government where he has been knighted. CNN named him in 10 Heroes of the Year, and he was awarded a humanitarian award in Washington DC.
All the information about the extensive menu and wine list is on the web site which is one of the cleanest and most informative I have seen in a long time. Check out the private presidential dining suites each named after every post war president.
