Hollywood,CA(Spiritsman)12/7/12/—Rum Chata is a relative newcomer (first shipped in 2009) to the crowded Rum market, but this creamy liqueur style drink is a perfect complement for the holidays. The drink uses five times distilled Caribbean rum along with real made from scratch Wisconsin dairy cream, with a touch of cinnamon, vanilla, sugar and other artificial flavors. They can say that because the distiller is actually located in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. They also a very interesting pepper flavored tequila that will be featured at a later date.

Sales of this particular rum drink have been quite robust in 2012, with a total of 2 million bottles sold in the first nine months, more than double the previous year. Master blender and the founder of RumChata is Tom Maas, and he is right about this being a great gift this holiday season, and we were certainly sorry when the bottle was empty.

Awards given to the drink have included the Beverage Information Group’s Rising Star Brand Growth Award in 2011 and 2012 and the Impact 2012 Hot Prospect Award.

Alcohol content is 13.75% and retails for $19.95 and is available in all 50 states. That price includes a cocktail shaker that they encourage you to use when mixing Rum Chata drink recipes which include the Pumpkin Pie Martini, Nutchata, Cinnamon Bun and the Oatmeal Cookie.

Also popular during this time of year is the addition of hot chocolate to make RumChocolata; with eggnog to make a RumChata Eggnog Latte and coffee for a Cappuccino Rum Chata.
