HOLLYWOOD (Spiritsman) 4/11/17/–Cocktail and Craft Box Club is a monthly or bi-monthly membership offering/delivery of cocktail kits that enable the member to create a specialty cocktail of their choosing/ordering. Set to launch for spring and summer is a full range of gift boxes for purchase in store – and ongoing Bar Valet Stocking and management services for home, office, vacation house, boat, plane, or other location of choice.

Also available is the Culver City in house Hi-Lo “Tasting Tap”. Visitors will find a full range of new “Best in Bar” Hi-Lo private label branded accessories and home bar kits that have been vetted by Founders Tal and Chris. Before the year is out, travel kits will be forthcoming as well as news about new store openings – and in-hotel mini-bar installations.

Cocktail and Craft Box Has Arrived/Time for the Tasting:

Elegant and fun was my first impression upon receiving my Cocktail and Craft Box. The sturdy box was filled with golden raffia. Artfully nestled in the raffia was everything required to make a custom Dry Fly Vodka Bloody Mary. Ingredients included were a bottle of Dry Fly Washington Wheat Vodka, a large jar of McClure’s Bloody Mary Mixer (Brooklyn and Detroit), a fresh lemon, and a fresh lime. What fun and convenience it was to have all the ingredients assembled and read to use.

Some Assembly Required:

On hand to help with the assembly process, Photographer/Writer, Tom Wright and I set out to create the perfect Dry Fly Vodka Bloody Mary. Good thing Tom is tall, because my elegantly tall glasses were on the highest shelf of the kitchen cabinet. First, we filled the glasses with ice cubes, poured in the carefully measured shots of Dry Fly Vodka, filled the glasses with McClure’s Bloody Mary Mixer, and finally, squeezed the lemon and lime slices on top. A quick stir and it was time to enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Observations:

The Dry Fly Vodka complemented the McClure’s Bloody Mary Mixer well. One sip and “ZOWWIE!” McClure’s Bloody Mary Mixer carries a punch! It was not too heavy on the Worchestershire Sauce, however, the other seasonings were boldly brought forward in the flavor. The mixer is noticeably opaque with a silky, full-bodied consistency. We became convinced that, in a pinch, the Dry Fly Bloody Mary could qualify as a lunch or dinner entree.

This is the most interesting and best-flavored Bloody Mary I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The Hi-Lo Liquor Market in-store location is:
