HOLLYWOOD(Spiritsman)8/22/13/–The Pavan Sangria Challenge invites bartenders to gain inspiration from the culture and landscape of their own dream destinations using original ingredients and an individual twist on traditional sangria

WHO / WHAT

Pavan Liqueur, the delicate and complex muscat grape liqueur, is inviting bartenders from around the country to take part in a one-of-a-kind cocktail challenge with a grand prize that is undeniably sweet.  In the Pavan Sangria Challenge, bartenders showcase their talents by creating original sangria recipes inspired by their dream escape destinations. The Challenge’s winner will be rewarded with the ultimate prize of a dream trip for two to the destination that brought to life his or her sangria creation.

As Pavan Liqueur is inspired by the sun and sea in the beautiful South of France where Pavan’s muscat grapes are grown, each entrant is challenged to draw inspiration from his or her own dream destination using original ingredients local to their chosen locale and an individual twist on traditional sangria that epitomizes paradise.

To enter, bartenders submit their original sangria recipes to pavan-sangria.com (website goes live August 26, 2013) for a chance to be selected as a semifinalist. Entry submissions will begin on August 26th and will be open for one month.  Semifinalists will be chosen from the entries by a panel of expert judges to move through to the semifinal events in Los Angeles, Miami, New York and San Francisco. Transportation and accommodations for semifinalists will not be provided. While one entrant from each event will progress to the finals in the Florida Keys, two wildcards will also be chosen to compete in the People’s Choice Round on Pavan Liqueur’s Facebook page.

ABOUT PAVAN LIQUEUR

Named after the 16th century dance of the peacock, Pavan celebrates the South of France. Pavan is a delicate and complex liqueur crafted with fine muscat grapes from the renowned AOC (Appellation d’Origine Controlee) region of Frontignan, where vineyards are surrounded by seaside air and gentle hills. As the final step, a touch of orange blossom is added and now Pavan is flawless.  Refreshing with sparkling water or alone on ice, Pavan is also perfect with vodka, gin, pisco and champagne.  So don’t be shy, raise your cocktail!
